Homemade Beauty Oil for a gorgeous skin.

I've never cared about rubbing oil on my skin as a beauty regime until I discovered "HUILE PRODIGIEUSE" by NUXE, the muti-use dry beauty oil that we, French women are crazy about!

According to NUXE description..  "98.1% of the ingredients in this Dry Oil are of natural origin, it is a unique combination of 30% Precious Plant Oils and Vitamin E to nourish, repair and soften your face, body and hair in a single step"

"With its unique concentration of 6 Precious Oils (Borage, St. John's Wort, Sweet Almond, Camellia, Hazelnut and Macadamia) and Vitamin E, this easily-absorbed, multi-usage Dry Oil will leave your skin soft and silky in a single step, while your hair will be left with amazing softness and shine. No preservatives."

So of course, I had to try it! It's light, easy to use and smell like summer at the beach! It is said it can be used all year long, but I have to tell you that I cannot personally use it in winter because of its lingering strong summer scent.  What I look for in a skin care and beauty product is a discrete and pleasant scent.

A couple years ago, I had the exciting idea to make MY OWN "HUILE PRODIGIEUSE".
To do so I mixed some sweet almond, macadamia, camellia, hazelnut and jojoba oils but did not add any essential oils. The result was not satisfying. Even though it was wonderful on my skin, making it soft and glowing, the smell was unpleasant (i smelled like a strong nut).

Despite this unsuccessful experience, I kept researching and educating myself about vegetable oils and their benefits on skin and finally found the perfect ones that would smooth, nourish, protect and penetrate easily in my sensitive and dry skin in summer.

Here is my recipe:

- Jojoba oil (40%) : regulates, smooths, firms, protects, nourishes
- French vanilla infused sesame oil (40%) : smooths, nourishes, protects
- Shea butter oil (10%) : nourishes, protects, soothes, repairs
- Sea- Buckthorn oil (10%) : anti- aging, emollient, protects, soothes, repairs

I have used this homemade vanilla scented beauty oil the past 2 summers. It made my skin look beautiful and even protected it from sunburns ( not when I stay in the sun in a prolonged time! ). This oil smells divine too!

I'm still going to search, make and experiment homemade beauty oils because there are so many I still have to try!

I also still own of bottle of "Huile Prodigieuse" by Nuxe and I probably will use it occasionally. I hope that some day, it will be reformulated with a more discreet and plant sourced fragrance (hopefully vanilla). :)
