Pig fat soap YUK! Olive oil soap YES!
Do you know that most of the bar soaps you find in drugstores are made from pig and cow fat? Look for TALLOW which is animal fat or SODIUM TALLOWATE which means saponified animal fat.
Soap is simply and should remain a mixture of salt and fatty acid.
I've been using exclusively soaps made from olive or vegetable oils, free of useless and harmful synthetic fragrances and sulfates.
The simplest, the best! A soap is made to clean only and be gentle enough so it does not strip out the natural oils of the skin.
I love the feeling of freshly clean skin after using a Marseille soap or Aleppo soap. THEN I moisturize!
Vegetable oil soaps are gentle enough to be used on face. It's recommended for sensitive, delicate and acne prone skin. In France, it's used by the whole family from the baby to the daddy and even to clean the laundry!
Go green, get clean!
