Star of the Beauty Cabinet: ROSE WATER
Rose, queen of all flowers. She symbolizes Love and Beauty.
For centuries, women have been using roses to make perfume, soaps, skin and hair care products.
Where I am from, we easily find floral waters, such as orange blossom, lavender, chamomile and rose water so I started to use them at a young age to tone and refresh my skin.
It is hard to find good quality floral waters or hydrolats around here so I have to order them online.
Rose water has many applications:
As for skin care, it is known to:
- soothe, hydrate, tone and refresh
- maintain skin pH balance and stimulate regeneration processes
- have anti-viral, antiseptic and disinfectant properties.
in aromatherapy, rosewater has a beautiful aroma that is known to:
- help emotional strength
- relax the mind and body
- empower the spirit
- remove stress
- make you want to fall in love ;)
It is also used in food and beverages, especially in the oriental and north african cuisine.
Mmmmm... turkish delights (Loukoum) !!! :)
Every night, after cleansing I spray some Rosewater all over the face and neck to tone, refresh, soothe and hydrate the skin. No night cream afterwards, I let the magic happens..
My favorite Rose waters are:
ALTEYA's Rose water
This Bulgarian rose water is a 100% pure, undiluted, natural, food-grade product rose water. It does not contain any preservatives, additives, or synthetic ingredients. It's produced via steam-distillation of fresh rose blossoms, picked in Alteya's rose fields in the world famous Bulgarian rose valley.
I absolutely love the scent of it. It truly smells like a rose bouquet!! It's also USDA Certified Organic!
Here's where I order it:
