Use your time wisely during confinement

We have entered the month of May, which means that winter and dark days are behind us. We celebrated Beltane on May 1st, we are now half way between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Days are getting warmer and longer. They bring vitality and growth. The earth has been reborn as well as us.
We can see the bright light shining on us, it give us energy. There is no better time to feel the warming power of the sun, the nature flourishing around us. I do believe like the ancients did that during Beltane the veil between our world and the world of fairies and nature spirits has grown thin.  It's a moment of magic, beauty and incredible fertility. We can see how much nature is powerful and regenerate at this time of the year.
I have been feeling the energy of the new season and it is giving me energy, and the desire to do more and think more. Despite the confinement and the pandemic hitting all of us, I feel that I need to keep taking that time as an opportunity more than ever. It's been 6 weeks of lockdown and I have been keeping myself busy. I have to admit there were many days where I felt hopeless and sad. Nevertheless through the hard times I have been thinking and trying to find ways to feel better.  I have that strong desire to break free from anything that no longer serves me, make me grow and make me happy.
I realized that I must let go of old mindsets and move into a rich mindset. I am so grateful for what I have right now and for what is keeping me centered and grounded.

As I am unemployed and confined at home, I have taken the opportunity to take free online courses through Coursera. And I love it very much! I love learning and being a student again is a great feeling. I feel alive and curious. Keep being curious no matter how old you are! It makes you grow!

I am taking the Greek and Roman Mythology online course with the University of Pennsylvania. So far, it has been a very interesting course which focus on the myths of ancient Greece and Rome, as a way of exploring the nature of myth and the function it plays for individuals, societies, and nations. The course also pays some attention to the way the Greeks and Romans themselves understood their own myths: Are myths subtle codes that contain some universal truth? Other topics include the creation of the universe, the relationship between gods and mortals, human nature, religion, the family, sex, love, madness, and death. I feel in my element as I studied the Humanities when I was younger...

I am also taking the Finance for non- Finance Professionals course with Rice University. It is a short course that surveys all the major topics covered in a full semester MBA level finance course, but with a more intuitive approach on a very high conceptual level. It gives a road map and framework for how financial professionals make decisions. It is exactly what I need right now and it will complete my money education along the way. I highly recommend it!

It is the perfect time to think more, learn more, and do more for personal growth!
And you, have you been learning something new lately? Please share!

Take care!!

Tatiana.
