Tea tree oil is my all over antiseptic and soothing remedy.
Everybody should have tea tree oil in their home. I surely always have some in mine! Tea tree oil is an essential oil with a strong aromatic odor, that I got used to.
I use it only externally because it is said to be toxic when taken by the mouth.
I mix tea tree oil with a flower water, mainly lavender water (see my post about Lavender) for its healing, antiseptic and soothing properties. I don't measure the ingredients but the ratio would be approximately 1 drop of tea tree oil for 5ml of liquid.
I use that mixture on skin rashes, small cuts, pimples, insect bites and especially after shaving/waxing or any type of hair removal when the skin become sensitive.
There is a product that I've been using after hair removal for years and that contain tea tree oil.
It's TEA TREE SOOTHING GEL by JASON.
It's my skin saver. It's indispensable on my underarms because it soothes the redness, heals and works also as a deodorant (you know you can't apply a deodorant or anti-antiperspirant right after hair removal! No no no!!).
That soothing gel also contains these important ingredients: arnica (anti-inflammatory), marigold (anti-inflammatory and scar healing), witch hazel (astringent and soothing) and menthol (cooling and helping better absorption of essential oils).
This gel is a must have in my bathroom!
