Nutritional yeast is the parmesan cheese of the vegans.. and mine!



I have started using Nutritional yeast seasoning on my salads and pasta after I heard that vegans can be B- complex vitamins deficient if they don't take supplements.

The body needs Vitamin B12 to make blood cells and to maintain a healthy nervous system. This vitamin is not found in plants.
Nutritional yeast seasoning is very tasty! I love it sprinkled on pasta. It has a cheese-like, nutty flavor but does not contains sodium and cholesterol and is very low in fat, unlike cheese...

The ingredients are: Dry yeast, Niacin (B3), Pyridoxine HCI (B6), Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin HCI (B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12.
 

It has 25 calories per 1 tablespoon.
 

Adding nutritional yeast on my food and taking vitamin B12 supplements, along with having a diverse and colorful whole food plant- based diet cover all my B vitamin needs.
